Cooperation with academic institutions is one of HRRC’s key areas of activity. Prerequisites for such cooperation were today presented by Anahit Simonyan, Director of HRRC, at the seminar on Creating Possibilities for International Cooperation on Human Rights organized by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.
Representatives of civil society and academia were invited to take part in the event. Participants discussed the challenges of conducting cross-sectoral research and the ways to engage necessary resources for the development of cooperation between the parties concerned.
Anahit Simonyan, in her turn, stressed the importance of involvement of academic circles in the research on and advocacy of human rights, as well as realisation of its “social function” by academic community. In this regard, she presented the activities being carried out by HCCR and highlighted the on-going cooperation with other stakeholders.
