This is a joint project, implemented by the CRRC- Armenia and Human Rights Research Center and with the support of UN Women.
Within the framework of the project, a comprehensive study of domestic legislation and existing practices will be carried out, based on the relevant international standards, especially the requirements of the International Labor Organization Convention No. 189 on Domestic Workers.
The protection of the labor rights of domestic workers has so far never been targeted as an issue of concern under the State policy of the labor sector in Armenia. At the same time, international studies document that domestic workers are highly vulnerable to labor rights violations, exploitation, harassment and violence, especially female domestic workers and minors.
The main goal of this evidence-based advocacy project is to advance the agenda of protecting the rights of domestic workers and ratifying ILO Convention No. 189 by Armenia.
This project is part of the "Economic Empowerment of Women in the South Caucasus" regional project, which is implemented by the UN Women with the financial support of the Swiss Development & Cooperation and the Austrian Development Agency.
