🎓We celebrated a remarkable milestone on July 12th as we held the closing ceremony of our Evening school on "Legal Research and Human Rights Protection Mechanisms." It was a joyous occasion with the presence of the Evening School’s participants and lecturers.
During this special event, we were honored to have Anahit Simonyan, the Director of Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) and Philippa Mullins, the representative of the Human Rights and Social Justice (HRSJ) Master's Program at AUA, deliver inspiring speeches.
Anahit Simonyan and Philippa Mullins took the opportunity to congratulate all the participants of the Evening School on their successful completion.
Particularly, Anahit Simonyan expressed gratitude for sharing this important experience together and emphasized that fostering a research-oriented culture and promoting knowledge of human rights in academic environments are top priorities for HRRC. She commended the Evening School as one of the pivotal initiatives of the organization in this direction.
Anahit Simonyan extended heartfelt appreciation to the partners of the HRSJ program for their invaluable cooperation during the Evening School. "The Evening School will continue, and in this regard we are always open to collaboration with each academic institution. We are thrilled to have worked with the Human Rights and Social Justice Master's Program at the American University of Armenia this time. This program stands as one of the core platforms of human rights education in Armenia. We extend our best wishes for great success to our colleagues at the HRSJ program," - expressed the Director of HRRC.
Furthermore, Anahit Simonyan highlighted that the Evening school hosted students and newly graduated specialists from 10 academic institutions across Armenia. She extended special gratitude to the lecturers of the Evening School for the commitment in sharing their invaluable knowledge, which contributed to the school's high level of expertise.
In turn, Philippa Mullins, the representative of HRSJ, expressed sincere appreciation to HRRC for organizing the Evening school and fostering a unique educational environment. Wrapping up her speech, she conveyed, "On behalf of the HRSJ program, I wholeheartedly congratulate all the school participants and assure you that the doors of the HRSJ program and our university will always remain open for you."
🎓 The ceremony's second part marked a moment of celebration as the participants received the graduation certificates. The closing event continued with engaging discussions between the participants and lecturers during the reception.

The Evening School is implemented with support of the European Endowment for Democracy (EED), and is aimed at raising awareness about international norms of human rights protection among students and early career specialists and developing skills required for conducting quality research in the area of human rights protection.
